EDMONDS BEACH ENGAGEMENT | SONNY & EMBER
I love finding new collaborations and connections in the creative community. I connected with Ember and Sonny for some engagement photos and now Ember is my new muse for future styled shoots and creative work to keep my mind fresh. She’s classically beautiful and up for anything, which I would say is a win win for sure.
The Seattle area in December can be pretty all over the place in terms of weather conditions. It could be sunny one minute, cloudy the next with an all-out torrential downpour by the end of the day. Throw in the possibility of snow in there too, you know, for good measure. Anyway, that being said, when we originally planned this shoot, I wasn’t sure if December was the right time or if it would be too cold, but Ember and Sonny could have fooled you into thinking it was July. They had their love and sense of adventure to keep them warm.
We started out our session at Yost Park and then headed down to the beach, where the sun was just about to set (in the middle of the afternoon, no less. That’s December in Washington for you.) Ember’s confidence and sense of style really added to the vibe of this shoot and it was obvious that her man was feeling it too. Rightfully so because she looked damn good.
Although spring and fall are my favorite seasons in terms of available foliage and just all around color in the PNW, I can appreciate the beauty that winter has to offer as well. There’s something about the bare trees and all the dead leaves strewn about preparing the ground for new life. It also makes any glimpses of color really stand out, like the red berries in these first photos of this adorable couple, and the warm notes in the otherwise cold and blue sunset.
