GAS WORKS PARK ANNIVERSARY | DANIEL & EMMY
I have a thing for love stories. I love to watch them happen and to help tell them to others. Now, we must remember that love is not limited to a newly engaged or married couple by any way, shape or form. Love is all around us, between families, couples, friends, pets, colleagues. The list goes on. Life is too short to hold on to anger or resentment. We need to focus more on the blessings and the people in our lives who are loving and positive influences. Don’t feel guilty for ridding your life of the negative. You must do YOU.
Back to the topic of love, I adore this quote from Love Actually. Whether or not you enjoy the movie itself, I think you can’t help but agree with the point below.
“Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there – fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge – they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around.”
I was welcomed into the home of Daniel, Emmy and the great Saint Berdoodle Sven for some photographs to celebrate an upcoming anniversary. Sven was pretty much the coolest looking dog ever with a spunky, yet cautious personality. I am a dog person inside and out (although considering trying a cat on for size for the first time in the near future), so working with clients that have dogs makes me giddy. I’ve never met a dog of this particular breed, nor had I really even heard of it, so it was extra fun for me hanging out with this little Seattle family. My in-laws have a Golden Doodle and I’m fascinated by these hybrid breeds that are hypoallergenic. I think it’s great because I cannot even fathom the reality of not being able to have a dog due to allergies. My dogs are my best friends and life would not be nearly as great without them. So, I think it’s awesome that people with this issue can have options for obtaining true happiness. 😉
After hanging out at this couple’s home for a little while, we ventured to Gas Works Park for some authentic Seattle portraits. The weather was cooperating for the most part considering it was early January, but then it started to snow! It was actually pretty cool for a few minutes until we realized just how wet the snow was, not fluffy. In other words, not great for hairdos, lol. Even so, these two lovebirds didn’t blink an eye and we rounded out our session as if nothing was amiss.
Sven was a trooper and everyone had a blast. Please enjoy some of my favorites from this fun-filled afternoon in the PNW’s greatest city.
