INTIMATE LA PUSH ELOPEMENT | CATHERINA & CHARLIE
When Catherina contacted me about photographing her intimate La Push elopement out at the Quileute Oceanside Resort, I was nothing short of ecstatic! She and her fiance Charlie had rented one of the oceanfront cabins at the resort in preparation for their elopement ceremony, and all I can say is that I need to be in one of these cabins taking a bath in the jacuzzi tub while watching the sunset over First Beach pretty soon because holy cow, what a perfect place to relax. After I managed to refocus my attention from the adorable cabin and my future plans to rent one myself, I strolled out the back door to the beach which was literally right outside to find Ben, the officiant that C&C chose for their ceremony, standing inside a prepared circle and tending to a roaring fire. He had all of the necessary elements ready for the rituals that the bride and groom had prepared.
When they were all dressed and ready, Catherina and Charlie walked down to the ceremony site from their perfect little cabin, smiling ear to ear. They entered the ceremony circle from the east and were greeted by Ben, who smudged them in a cleansing smoke bath used to purify the body, aura, energy, and ceremonial/ritual space. Ben led the ceremony and then Catherina and Charlie said their private vows to each other, witnessed by the crashing ocean waves behind them.
After they were announced as ‘husband and wife,’ C&C exited the sacred ceremony circle and waltzed down the beach, hand in hand, enjoying their newlywed bliss. We spent some time taking photos in front of the well known giant piece of driftwood that can be found on First Beach, as well as along the spectacular beach. Catherina really wanted to go IN the water, which I absolutely was alllll over. Luckily Charlie was up for it as well, so off went the shoes and into the waves they went! With their love to keep them warm, they let the waves crash around them for a few minutes before coming back to shore. It was nothing short of awesome.
I am so thankful to have shared in this special time with these two very special people. Congratulations to Catherina and Charlie as they start this new life together as husband and wife.
