DISCOVERY PARK DAY-AFTER SESSION | TIM & TINA
Something I have started really encouraging to my clients is day-after sessions. The reality is, wedding days can be stressful and there are so many moving parts making it all happen that it is commonplace for something to fall behind or a bump in the road to appear. Unfortunately, the part of the day that usually suffers from being behind schedule is the time set aside for bride and groom portraits. As a photographer and also a recently married human, this is the bread and butter of what I do. I love capturing candid moments during the reception, but everyone also wants those intimate portraits of themselves with their newly minted spouse to frame on the wall and share with friends and family.
That being said, it is also super important that the couple, especially the bride, do not get stressed out on their big day. This is where day-after sessions come in. No stress, no timeline being shoved in your face, no worrying about keeping your guests waiting. You’re actually able to relax and enjoy the time with your new spouse.
Tim and Tina knew they didn’t want to stress on their wedding day at Beaver Lake, so they opted to do the majority of their portraits at Discovery Park in Seattle. It was a beautiful spring day and these two were all smiles as we wandered around and listened to everyone say “congratulations!” as they passed. Tim was irritated since he insisted it wasn’t the same since they were already married, but we all had a good laugh and managed to get some super relaxed and intimate photos of the new Lovells in this beautiful, iconic Seattle location.
Spring in Seattle is truly a sight to behold. Every year I am in awe of the fluffy blossoms that fill the trees and fall to the ground like snow.
